After receiving a grant from the Centre for Undergraduate Excellence (Harrison Research grant) as well as the Carlo Pelliccia Fellowship, I embarked on a trip with two fellow students to study the typology of Roman villa Marittimas on the coasts of Campania, Lazio and Tuscany to gain a full understanding of my thesis site. The visited locations were selected for their proximity to water, their relevance in terms of time frame, their function, and the state of preservation they were in. Below are some of the drawings as well as a selection of photographs from our one month trip.
